As you might have heard, MKE is closing shop. Yeah, that's a real bummer for me, but I've been able to get my mind off it.
Last week's episode of "Doctor Who" was purely divine. Donna Noble becomes trapped in a parallel universe in which she never meets the Doctor, who had repeatedly saved the Earth (OK, mainly London) from imminent destruction. That sets up the return of Rose Tyler, who gives the good Doctor a warning:
If you don't follow the series, "bad wolf" is a carry-over from Series 1, a message sent through the whole of time and space by Rose (via the time vortex of the TARDIS). And as you can see from the trailer from the next episode, just about everyone in Who lore is coming back, including a certain Dalek.
Two weeks ago I powered through Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. And when I say powered through it, I mean I played it for 16 hours straight. It's a fun ride, and you can tell that it's Hideo Kojima's love letter to the series, though I'm sure it will continue without him at the helm. I've since moved on to Mass Effect, but with less enthusiasm.
And let's not forget the midseason finale of "Battlestar Galactica." I'll just say this: When you see a long cinematic montage of happiness, you know something BAD is coming up. And apparently, the Colonial Fleet and the Cylons waged intergalactic war over a planet struck by nuclear holocaust. This still doesn't explain "All Along the Watchtower," how Starbuck acquired a Viper and why it took only four Cylons to determine the path to Earth instead of five.
Throw in an episode of Mythbusters into the mix, and you're bound to ignore that MKE is shutting down.
